Tour Sign Up: Messy Roots: A Graphic Memoir of a Wuhanese-American by Laura Gao

Image
Would you like to participate in  the bookstagram tour for  MESSY ROOTS? Synopsis: After spending her early years in Wuhan, China, riding water buffalos and devouring stinky tofu, Laura immigrates to Texas, where her hometown is as foreign as Mars--at least until 2020, when COVID-19 makes Wuhan a household name. In Messy Roots, Laura illustrates her coming-of-age as the girl who simply wants to make the basketball team, escape Chinese school, and figure out why girls make her heart flutter. Insightful, original, and hilarious, toggling seamlessly between past and present, China and America, Gao's debut is a tour de force of graphic storytelling.  A BOU T THE TOUR The tour for Messy Roots will take place from April 4th to April 17th.  This tour is open to bookstagrammers in the UK and physical copies will be provided. Chinese bookstagrammers will be prioritised, as well as other Asian bookstagrammers.  We usually expect reviews from participants but please indi

The only bright side is that he strikes up unlikely friendships with the nicest (and nerdiest) girl at his new school, Amina, and the gorgeous, popular, and (reportedly) straight school captain, Jordan Tanaka-Jones. As Luca’s bond with Jordan grows stronger, he starts to wonder: who is
